REVISITING... 5X15 - Travelers

Today I’m back with one of the most reviled TXF episodes ever, the controversial and oddly named Travelers, where we are first introduced to Arthur Dales... or is it Arthur Dales’ brother, also named Arthur Dales? Oh, and Mulder’s father also plays a role in this “back to the past” adventure.

REVISITING... 4X06 – Sanguinarium

Let’s head on over to Chicago to an Aesthetic Surgery Unit (known as an ASU) where patients are dying from procedures that they did not intend to have. All because the devil wants to be “beautiful”. Yeah, right. Sanguinarium it is.

I’m a fan of the DECEIVE, INVEIGLE and OBFUSCATE bit of dialogue — not to mention its peculiar appearance as a tagline to this episode — but Teliko is more miss than hit. Let’s take a second look, shall we?

This week’s revisit takes place in nearby Maryland, at a veterans’ hospital, where a Lieutenant Colonel is failing miserably at committing suicide. Maybe it’s an x-file! Am I the only one who quite often confuses this ep – The Walk – with The List? Are they really so similiar or is it really just me?

From the rainforests of Ecuador (which look suspiciously like the forests of British Columbia), we chance upon an ancient urn that proves problematic for everyone who later comes into contact with it back in Boston. Come and take another look at Teso Dos Bichos (apparently named after the excavation site).

REVISITING... 2X22 - F. Emasculata

This revisitation takes us from the jungles of Costa Rica and skirts through a prison facility before almost winding up on the front doors of everyone’s home. The events of F. Emasculata are sufficiently frightful and will cause you to think, “Might this be how the ultimate epidemic rolls out?”

REVISITING... 3X03 - D.P.O.

This week we are go back to a small town in Oklahoma where we find young versions of Giovanni Ribisi and Jack Black wreaking havoc. Well, actually, it’s really just the former wreaking havoc, in the guise of a badass slacker teenager who has the hots for his teacher. The episode – D.P.O. – is named after the character’s initials as found on the high scores of his favourite video game.

Are zoos doomed? This week I go back to Fairfield, Idaho to see how relevant The X-Files was about this issue back in the day, in that episode with the great teaser, Fearful Symmetry.
